If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow - Chinese Proverb

Me, myself and I ;)

I’m never alone with me, myself and I.  Although others may see me alone, I am really not!  I took myself on a date last night.  Just like any other date night, I stood in my closet wondering what I should wear on my date? I loaded up on the accessories and out the door I went !  Driving into the town square, I would decide where I would have dinner by the closest available parking spot.  As I walked into the restaurant and asked “what is the wait for a table for one ?”.  “We can seat you now !” said the hostess with a smile.  Awesome!  (The benefit of dining alone at a popular venue).  Everyone that passed by my table smiled at me and most added a nod.  The thought conversation I had with myself was interesting and almost enjoyable,  the Dr. Pepper with my Tex-mex meal was a refreshing change from the margarita with salt, and the warmth from my seat warmer for the drive home was comforting!

I’m learning about myself.  I am defining my dreams and working my way to turning them into a plan.  I count my blessings and thankfully,  they always out number my woes.  I am not sure what the future holds when it comes to my being a ‘couple’,  but I am becoming more sure of MYSELF 😉

Cheers to New Beginnings 😉

THINK POOH ;)

The first step to getting what you want is having the courage to get rid of what you don’t want.   There are plenty of obstacles in the world, don’t allow yourself to be one of them.   Each day is a new blessing, let go of your worries and be grateful for all the POSITIVE in your life!

When my boys were young and would find themselves discouraged for one reason or another… I would post notes throughout our home with  “THINK POOH”  .  We had watched the Winnie the Pooh videos quite a bit and to me, the lesson in each video was always the same- NEVER GIVE UP.   Pooh’s goal was  to get to the honey  jar.  He would think of creative ideas to satisfy his sweet tooth.   He would enlist his friends in his plight and yet, rarely did he have that pot of gold in his grasp.  Yet he never gave up.  He kept his smile, determination and forged on to the next great idea to accomplish his goal.

Sometimes, we just have to “THINK POOH” even though we may feel and sound more like Eyore.  The first step of achieving anything you want,  is believing you CAN verses you canNOT.

Cheers to New Beginnings & remember sometimes you’ve just got to THINK POOH !

Cheers to New Beginnings ;)

Divorce is a forced division of family, finances and your  home. You hear the stories every day of the emotional and financial strains it creates with our families and friends. In my recent divorce, my mantra was “anger will cost you money” .  Instead of being on the Defense, I opted for the proactive approach.  I could not deny the reality of my divorce, but I could change how I dealt with it.  I surrounded myself with a  support group to help guide me, rather than those who would host a pity party for me.  I replaced my former spouse with a team of professionals.  I interviewed and secured a mortgage lender, financial advisor and an attorney that were committed to my best interests without adding fuel to the fire.  Obtaining knowledge and being proactive allowed me to stand tall.  I was alone, but with my strong faith and the force of professionals providing their advice and opinions, led me  through the unknown to my new beginning.

I turned the dreaded doom and gloom outcome into a path to a new beginning  for myself.

I would strongly suggest to my friends and family to utilize the same tactic if  facing divorce .  Remember: you are not a failure because your marriage failed.  Find an empathetic realtor, a trustworthy financial advisor and a mortgage lender who are all well versed in the divorce process and interested in your success verses their financial gain from your divorce.

I did just that….and I survived 😉

Cheers to New Beginnings !
